Synopsis

Yui is an average schoolgirl who lives in a future where all computers are supported by a single global network known as COMNET. Yui is a computer-illiterate girl who after a computer-lab accident is approached by IR, a raccoon looking corrector computer program, which tells her she must save COMNET. She must stop the rogue A.I. (Artificial Intelligence) computer program known as Grosser and his hench-programs from taking over the world. Grosser was originally designed to be that manager of all of COMNET. At first she's very reluctant to play the heroine because of her complete lack of knowledge and ability with computers. To save COMNET she must find and gain the trust of the other seven wayward corrector programs. They must also find the creator or COMNET Professor Inukai, to help stop Grosser for good.

First of all, I need to make an important note here for all viewers who use English subs: I have only been able to find English subtitled episodes up to episode 18. I have found raws, Portuguese subs, and Spanish dubs on other sites, but if you like to use English subs, you're out of luck.
Story: As you'd expect with a typical magical girl anime from the 90's, Corrector Yui is episodic, but manages to advance the plot every few episodes. It's a little cringe-worthy towards the beginning, but as the series goes on, there's a certain charm that comes with the characters going to a different virtual world every episode.
Animation: Oh my my the animation was certainly interesting. It's your typical 90's anime fare, with sharp lines and heavy contrast, but what really put me on edge was the quality of some of the animation. For example, certain walk sequences looked anatomically impossible, and there were also inconsistencies with the features of certain characters. In particular, there are two episodes in which Yui meets a self-aware AI by the name of Hoehoe, who happens to be a baby purple whale. Throughout said episodes, the placement of Hoehoe's eyes kept on changing from the top of his (?) head to almost next to his mouth.
Sound: Nothing special except that OP 1 is a little different from your average OP.
Character: This is where Corrector Yui redeems itself a little bit. Of course, you have the protag, her best friend, her male childhood friend, her other female friends, her sidekicks(s), and the villains, but none of them are really throwaway characters.
Enjoyment: It's a kid's magical girl show from the 90's that takes place in the Internet, so it's not for everybody, but if you want something a little nostalgic to watch, Corrector Yui isn't a bad choice.
